From Ceci Johnson:
I was so inspired by the gorgeous, ornate details found throughout Alice and Jason’s nuptials, I decided to play off the theme and get really artsy for our cover shoot with Brian Marcus of Fred Marcus Photography. So I enlisted the help of Bess Wyrick of Celadon & Celery, who along with Arminé Ohanessian of R-Mine Bespoke created the stunning floral crown I’m wearing in the image below. Full Article.
As we thought about my headpiece, we were inspired by the gold swirls and opulence of this week’s invitation, but also wanted to bring in some of the sweet, softer elements of Alice & Jason’s wedding. Read on to see how Bess, along with the Arminé Ohanessian of R-Mine Bespoke, brought the crown from fantasy to reality. I think you’ll agree the result is dramatic, opulent and truly a work of art!
Armine encourages all brides to incorporate as much color as possible on their special day!
One way of doing this is by contrasting a bright colored clutch against the simplicity of a wedding gown.

Besides fashion, I inspire myself by looking at Modern artists, for this shoot specifically, I looked at two famous artists, Miro and Kandinsky. I am drawn to their use of bold colors and sharp symmetric lines.
Through my gowns, the accessories, and make-up, we were able to use the sharp and bold colors but still found a way to incorporate the grace and elegance of a traveling bride.
Be sure to catch our latest feature on Grace Ormonde Wedding Style‘s site!
Stay tuned to read all about the inspiration behind the shoot next week!

While curating this shoot we were thinking of a fashion-forward, artsy, edgy woman that loves to travel and think out of the box. The Jet Set shoot is combination of several ideas of what wedding fashion should consist of: timeless and classic with hint of edge. Wedding Style should include couture gowns for the bride as well as her friends.
We went for bold, modern and vintage jewelry in addition to bold and daring makeup. This combination accomplishes an editorial runway look.
High fashion and travel was on our minds when we chose the soft, flowing ball gown dresses that would capture the wind.

As a trained artist, my inspirations come from many different aspects of art, between studying the color or texture of a piece. When creating painted gowns or working with fabrics, I always look to the arts, and always find a way of incorporating the two worlds: art and fashion.
Taking my passion and Bess’ creativity, Celadon and Celery, we had fun playing around with fabrics and flowers. We made a great team by incorporating all of our ideas and producing images that included all of our inspirations.
